lyrics

The bison on the plain
their home was on the range
till the white men came
with their guns and trains
then it all became
strange

Once they numbered in millions
like there’d never be an end
but the world its spins
can be sudden
then plenty turned endangered

We beat the hills for gold
the bison hides and bones
then we look around
and the lonely ground
wonder where its gone
wrong

You found me in the cities
and you took me to the clearing
where the view blew us away
our new home out on the range
Like the bison of old seemed
we would never be depleted
but it was me who brought
the trains and guns
so that’s why
i’m saying sorry
babe
